About Me

Susan Pallister, Vice Principal at KEHS, has over 25 years of leadership experience

It has been a real privilege to work with young people for the last twenty nine years in a contrasting range of educational environments. It seems like only yesterday when I began work in a co-educational maintained school on the edge of Norwich. Since embarking on my professional journey, I have worked in schools in Scunthorpe and Hull and then, in 2005, I finally arrived in the leafy suburbs of Birmingham to take on the role of Vice Principal at King Edward VI High School for Girls.

At King Edwards, I have focused on developing the quality of teaching and learning and have worked closely with staff developing and introducing initiatives including peer observations, informative assessment processes and innovative teaching and learning resources. At KEHS there is a concerted focus in lesson planning and observations on differentiation. A ‘Widening Horizons’ initiative for Upper 4th/ Lower 5th pupils has been developed, an Academic Handbook has been written for 6th Form students and Harvard Referencing has been introduced. Numerous curriculum reviews have been undertaken and, since we became a ‘Teaching School’, over 160 internal CPD training courses have been delivered. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of a highly talented team of experienced, knowledgeable and successful teachers.
